Home to a well-known windmill
Shipley Windmill, also known as King's Mill, is an eight-sided smock mill built in 1879 that was owned for nearly fifty years by the author Hilaire Belloc, and later appeared as a filming location for the television series Jonathan Creek.
Its continued presence on the edge of the village is a reminder of Shipley's rural, agricultural roots, even as the surrounding area has changed.
